Client Challenges

With a history of growth through merger and acquisition, as well as a significant period of Private Equity ownership, our client – a global manufacturer of electronic equipment –  had a legacy of unsupported and outdated IT systems as well as disjointed and inefficient processes.

With their physical presence in over 20 countries, a global programme was established to replace the landscape with a modern and scalable platform suitable for their business growth agenda. The goal was to improve management information through harmonised data and processes giving better and immediate financial information essential for them to make better and quicker business driven decisions.

 What did Aveas do?

The client, wanting to implement a new global ERP solution with underpinning support, had limited experience of major change programmes including engagement of global third parties. Aveas were engaged to take the lead with both the commercial and contractual support ensuring that the outcome:

  • Develop the contract and commercial blueprint
  • Ensured that the supplier was fully accountable for the solution
  • Minimise opportunities for costly change control

This, in turn, led to Aveas being asked to take the lead with delivery, managing the supplier though to delivery of the contractual obligations

What were the outcomes

Following an initial short term engagement, when Aveas negotiated a reduction of the chosen suppliers initiation and planning phase costs by 85%, Aveas were retained to develop the contract and take the lead on reaching contract signature.

In parallel, Aveas were requested to setup the PMO and provide Programme Management expertise to assist the CFO and CIO with delivery of both the UK proof of concept and then the global rollout.

The programme won numerous awards including recognition at the global Oracle Excellence Awards. In addition, Aveas were credited with saving the client over £2m of quantifiable savings over the course of the programme.
